Youth Devolution Festival Delegation Meets PS Shadrack Mwadime

A delegation from the Coalition of Youth For Devolution paid a courtesy call to the Principal Secretary for the State Department of Labour and Skill Development, Mr. Shadrack Mwadime, at his offices.

The team shared with the PS about their flagship initiative, the Youth Devolution Festival. The Inaugural Festival was held at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology in November 2024, convening 859 Youth from 38 counties. The 2nd Edition will bring together 1200 delegates from 47 counties and will be held in Kajiado County from 1st to 3rd of October under the theme, "Harnessing Devolution through Youth Empowerment, Innovation and Job Creation for Economic Growth."

The delegation comprised of Mr. Odari Murabwa, the Head of Secretariat for the Youth Devolution Festival, and Mr. Dion Wandera, the Research Lead.

PS Shadrack Mwadime applauded the initiative and highlighted the various interventions by the state department targeted at creating an enabling environment for matters labour and skills development. He offered critical insights into the various ways the Coalition could ensure an impactful Festival.
